Hi, I’m Penny! Welcome to my blog! So let me tell you a little about myself. I’m 45+ years young and getting younger every day. I’ve been a geek since my first computer class in 10th grade and yes, they had computers back then. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats. Beginning my career in tech support and programming , I progressed through process analysis and design, and business analysis, project and program management. I even managed an IT department full of other super geeks. Along the way, I’ve also analyzed and redesigned technical and business processes, created manuals and training, and worked with marketing and product development teams to round it all out.
Sounds boring and mind-numbing, doesn’t it? Well, it can be. So I had to create an outlet for the “other” me. The more fun, creative, down to earth me. I started my web design company after a graphic designer friend of mine asked me to design a website for one of her clients. That was the beginning. And now, my wonderful clients call me, Web Goddess. (cue chorus of angels).
The majority of my career I have involved in Internet-based technologies and services. Regardless of the industry, health insurance, human resources, payroll processing, banking, e-Commerce or higher education, the Internet has played a big part in my life. And I have loved it.
So for over 15 years, I’ve been designing web sites and helping small businesses, especially those in the holistic and metaphysical communities utilize the internet to promote and grow their businesses. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many mainstream customers as well as light workers. And I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. And my “day jobs”, mostly in internet-related positions, allowed me to provide my clients with up-to-date technology and strategies.
“Sounds like an awesome life, Penny. So why the blog?” you ask?
I’m so glad you asked!
I’ve always wanted to find a way to reach more people. I love helping my clients but they are just a small segment compared to all of the small businesses I see on the web. In working with my clients, I’m finding over and over again that the average small business entrepreneur is so busy working in their business that when it comes time to grow it, they are lost. Many have never had exposure to a corporate environment or worked with a marketing or sales team. And then there’s the internet – a whole new world to them. Some have tried to navigate these realms themselves. Can you say information overload? So not only have I helped my clients develop their websites, email campaigns and book launches, I have also provided advertising suggestions, researched computer issues and given business advice.
Now I’m just one person. And there is soo much information out there. I can’t possibly reach everyone. But I want to disseminate as much material as I can to as many small business owners and entrepreneurs as possible. Having a strong, professional web presence and an solid marketing strategy is key to a company’s success these days. I’d like to help you grow your business.
So check back often as I’ll be providing new information on a plethora of subjects related to your online business.
